Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from spring of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 different events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on court had led some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
He came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour victory, took control to force a final set.
Moutet rescued four initial chances in a tight third set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
